Claes Westring started in the electrical industry in 1980 in sales for Westinghouse Electric and continued on with ABB until 2006 in various sales, business development and management assignments for the industrial, export and utility market. He spent the last 10 years with ABB’s turnkey projects group assembling and leading project teams from conceptual to project delivery to help solve customer issues. Joe Scott started in the electrical industry in 1988 working for an electrical contractor. Soon thereafter he joined WESCO and worked there for 20 years in various capacities including warehouse, counter, inside & outside sales and sales management. Clay Cook began his working career with Brown Boveri Corporation in 1984. Shortly thereafter, BBC merged with ASEA to become ABB, where Clay spent the next 24 years in various capacities, including electrical drafting, QA, project engineering, marketing, and outside sales. Chris Crawford started in the electric utility industry in 1988 with a small independent distributor in Atlanta. His company was bought by Hughes Supply in 1996 and later acquired by Home Depot.  He spent 21 years working outside sales in Georgia prior to joining Superior Power Products.

Jim Shipp started in the electric utility industry in 1981 as an engineering co-op student at

Alabama Power Co. He served in various positions for APCO over the next 18 years with most

of his career focused on power distribution engineering and industrial marketing. Since he left

APCO in 1999, Jim has been the founder and owner of several small businesses in the

manufacturing and utility industries. Jim will be responsible for Alabama Power Co, Public

Power, and distributors for all SPP lines in North Alabama. He may be reached at

Mike Whitt began his career in the electric utility industry as a co-op student that led to a 25-year career with Alabama Power Co. in various engineering and management positions. His experience includes stints with GE Energy, Cooper Power Systems and WESCO. An EE graduate of Auburn University and lifetime resident of Alabama, he is responsible for the Alabama, South Mississippi and Florida Panhandle territory. John Massey started in the electric utility industry in 1992 with Alabama Power as a distribution engineer.  He served in various positions for Southern Company over the next 20 years with most of his career focused on wholesale power sales to other IOU and public power entities in the southeast.  He left Georgia Power in 2012 to join Eaton Corporation and lead their LED lighting Energy Team and later served as VP Enterprise Accounts.  He will be responsible for the IOU market for Thomas & Betts and assist with the distribution utility market for other SPP lines in Georgia. Mike Thayer has over 30 years of sales experience in the Electrical Wholesale Distribution industry. He has worked for various distributors with focus on low voltage control ABB LV products in the Carolinas and Mid Atlantic states before relocating to St Augustine Fl in 2005. He worked for Atlantic Controls and then Control Design covering accounts in eastern United States concentrating on ABB LV Product. Carolyn Westring has over 30 years of sales experience in the electrical industry with Westinghouse, Cutler Hammer and ABB. She spent the last 15 years in both inside and outside sales for ABB developing and supporting the export and Caribbean Market. Carolyn will be providing inside sales and operational support to SPP.  She brings to SPP's customers ABB know-how and excellent communication and customer support. Lina Mesa has over 30 years of customer service capacity for major manufacturers like ABB in the electrical industry. Her SPP responsibilities include daily quotes, entry and follow up of sales orders for the various manufacturers SPP represents. Jackie Viscosi joined the SPP team in 2017. Jackie’s role is inside sales, supporting the Florida utility market. Born and raised in the Orlando area, Jackie is a recent graduate of UCF, earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
